Our Story

In 2011 after a 15 year presence in Carnegie as the owner of the local Medicine Shoppe, Greg Romeo came across the old Carnegie Post Office while on the search for a new location for his pharmacy. The historic building was in utter disrepair. Over the next 2 years, Greg and his partner and wife, Ashley Comer, renovated the post office to become the new location of their pharmacy and also Carnegie Coffee Company, a cafe inspired by their love of cafe culture and desire to create a community space in Carnegie.

Ashley and Greg wanted to bring a beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming space to their town. they also wanted the people in Carnegie to experience espresso culture in an accessible way - the five sense experience of drinking a delicious coffee (ask Ashley or Greg about it sometime!) Whether you're drinking a double espresso or a 20 oz. extra sweet caramel latte, we believe that coffee is meant to be shared and enjoyed, however you like it! We serve Lavazza coffee, which we believe to be one of the finest roasted coffees in the world. We serve drip coffee for our customers on the go and espresso drinks, as we believe that espresso is the most delicious expression of Lavazza coffee.

In 2021, Greg sold his pharmacy, which shared space in the old post office with Carnegie Coffee Company. Since then, we expanded our menu, our seating, and our baking operation. You will now find a large selection of scratch baked goods and a huge breakfast and lunch menu, all of which we are very excited and proud to serve. We crack each egg to order and we only use butter and olive oil to cook. Our kitchen is tiny but mighty!

Over the years, we have kept our goal of providing a comfortable, accessible, safe, and welcoming space for the community and beyond. We hope that you can feel it!
